Newton Street brought with it an entirely modern dilemma.

A vacant block of limitless potential in the middle of a 1990s estate; the last bastion of opportunity in a sea of beige townhouses. The dilemma; how to construct two modern homes that are sympathetic to their surroundings when their surroundings are so underwhelming?

The approach required a respectful but nostalgic nod to the dominant brick and rendered facades nearby.

With a modern reinterpretation through the introduction of timber and metal elements.

These innovative materials allowed us to maximise the internal space creating generously proportioned living areas, relaxed, low maintenance outdoor entertaining areas and luxuriously appointed private spaces all with a contemporary design influence.
